KL Bird Park

The place we are staying is perfect. This morning at 7:30, Anita brought us local-style breakfast. We had a roti cone with sugar and butter and other with bananas,
and watermelon.

We were in no rush this morning at by 9:30 Tasi was already in need of a nap so the rest of us tried to stay quiet for the next 3 hours. By 1:30 we were finally on our way to enjoy our Christmas present from Grandma Z - tickets to the Kuala Lumpur Bird Park. It is the world's largest free-flight walk-in aviary and was incredible. Makoa took lead and checked the maps at various stations and explained to us where we were going next. Tasi was just the right size for this peacock dance and for the rest of the day pointed out her 'bihd'.

Makoa found these gorgeous red birds and gave me his 'bird park smile' not to be confused with the butterfly park one he will show you then!

Time for a break we ate at the Hornbill restaurant. Yummy ice cream and juice, and a hornbill stopped by for a photo op.

On the way out we found Tasi's favorite part - the stairs. She must have walked Don up and down these a dozen times saying, "c'mon sweetie c'mon".
The kids and I posed for the touristy picture with the birds. Makoa braved having several on him and Tasi had to fight off a parrot who was picking through her hair.
The place was so big it even had its own giant playground where we probably spent half of our time, on the swings and slides.

Don even joined in the action and right after I took this picture he fell off and Tas had to give him a kiss and help him up :)
Once we finally convinced the kids to leave we took one last picture at the 'totally awesome behind the waterfall' spot.
Thank you Grandma Z for a wonderful day!
